Hefei is well known throughout China as an environmental city and one that is ¡®Green'. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the city has changed its landscape enormously for the better and also increased the growth of trees in the area. There are many different measures put into action by the government to promote the ¡®Green' image of the city. Some of examples of these are: transplanting big trees into the city, planting flowers and plants along the streets and several others.
