It is the iron and steel base for China, and the coal deposits make up about a quarter of Chinas reserve. Although Baotous development as a city is of relatively short history, records of human settlement can be traced back to almost 5,000 years ago. In 1809, it was incorporated as a town, and it became a city in 1953, from which time Baotou has been known for its steel production.

Tour Itinerary: (Lunch)
In the morning you will first visit Wudangzhao, the former residence of the highest ranking lama in Inner Mongolia. Presently, it is the only intact Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in the province. In the afternoon you will visit Resonant Sand Bay. Here you will be able to slide from the top of the hill to the bottom and hear unexplainable aircraft like sounds. Afterwards, dinner will consist of carp from the Yellow River among other Chinese dishes. After dinner you will return to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.

Attraction Description
Wudangzhao, located near Baotou, it the most well kept and also the largest Tibetan influenced lamasery in Inner Mongolia. This architecture and design was based off of the Tashilhunpo Monastery in Tibet and consists of six main halls, three living Buddha mansions, a memorial hall and over 2,000 rooms.
Resonant Sand Bay(otherwise known as Xiangshawan in Chinese), is located within an hour's drive away from the city of Baotou, in Ih Ju League. Here, one can slide down the dunes and hear sounds of automobile and aircraft engines, a natural unexplainable phenomenon.
