You will leave your hotel in the morning and visit the Meixi Royal Stone Archways and then the New Yuan Ming Palace. Afterwards you will return to your hotel for the remainder of the day.
The Meixi Royal Stone Archways is located at Meixi Village in the town of Qianshan, in Zhuhai City. There are many attractions worth seeing here, including; Zhuhai famous people"s waxwork, the overseas Chinese millionaire Mr. Cheng Fang’s hometown, Chinese stone archways exhibit and others.
The New Yuan Ming Palace opened in 1997 and built after the Yuan Ming Yuan imperial palace in Beijing was burnt down by allied forces in the Second Opium War. It was built to act as a reminder of China’s past history.
Attraction Description
The Meixi Royal Stone Archways, built in 1886 and 1891 by the Guangxu Emperor, are located in Mei Xi Village, Qianshan town, Zhuai City. There are only three stone archways left. The architectural design is inspired from both western and eastern culture and there are several carvings located all over the archways.
New Yuan Ming Palace is 1.4sq km in area and located near the base of Lanpu Dashilin Mountain. The Palace is designed as a copy of the Old Summer Palace in Beijing that was destroyed in 1860 by French and British troops. The New Yuan Ming Palace was built as a reminder of the one that burned down.
