Niger

Niger, officially the Republic of Niger, is a country landlocked in the Sahara region of West Africa. It covers an area of 1,267,000 square kilometer with two-thirds of it being desert, of which much of the northeastern part is uninhabitable. The southwest border along the Niger River is the only tertile area of the country. China and Niger first established diplomatic relations in 1974 but suspended it in 1992 because Niger resumed the "diplomatic relations" with Taiwan. In 1996, Niger reestablished the diplomatic relations with China.The bilateral relations between the two counties have enjoyed smooth development ever since.
