Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka, officially the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, is an island country in South Asia, located about 31 kilometres off the southern coast of India. It covers an area of 65,610 square kilometers and has an estimated population of over 20 million people. In the 19th and 20th Centuries, Sri Lanka became a plantation economy, famous for its production and export of cinnamon, rubber and Ceylon tea, which remains a trademark national export. The island is the home of two main traditional cultures: the Sinhalese and the Tamil. Sri Lanka developed diplomatic relation with China on Febrary 7,1957.
