Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, covers a total area of 10 thousand square kilometers and has a population of around 2.6 million people. The city's ideal location---in the southern rim of China, right near Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and Southeast Asia, in close proximity to the Gui Railway, which connects China proper and Vietnam, and acting as the import/export trade passage between Beihai and Fangcheng Port, establishes Nanning as a pivotal economic link between the nation's coastal areas and her interior.
The city's landscape is varied with hills and plains in the southeast and mountains for the rest. Nanning has a subtropical climate with yearly average temperatures of 21.7 degrees centigrade and annual rainfall of 1,300 millimeters. Because of its nearness to the Tropic of Cancer, Nanning pretty much has sunlight all year round, along with a mild climate and sporadic rainfalls. The city boosts green trees, and fruit trees (peach, mango, Renmian fruit, jackfruit, Chinese olives, etc.) as well as exotic flowers and lush grasslands.
