  • Hong Kong Disneyland opened on September 12, 2005 after several years of construction. The park is jointly owned by The Walt Disney Company and the Hong Kong Government and managed by Hong Kong International Theme Parks. It is the fifth Disneyland theme park in the world. The theme park has four areas that are familiar with those in the USA: Adventureland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Main St. USA. Inside the park there are also several well known attractions, such as Sleeping Beauty's Castle, the Mad Hatter Tea Cups, Space Mountain, Orbitron and several others. There are also some new areas unique to Disneyland Hong Kong, like Inspiration Lake, where people can rent boats and ride them in the large arboretum. There are also several shows and parades in the park, as well as a fireworks display every night at 8pm. Disneyland Hong Kong is, however, the smallest Disneyland park, yet the experience is very different from the others, especially since it is located in Hong Kong, a unique city unto itself.
