The Wolong Giant Panda Reserve Center is one of only a few places in China that carries out research work on giant pandas breeding and bamboo ecology. The World Wildlife Fund assisted in the foundation of the center in 1980 and since its construction, the research center has become a world leader in its field. This research center is also open to tourists. Visitors can wander through the park and look at the different species of pandas and other animals and take pictures of them in their habitat. A visitor can also adopt a panda provided they donate a certain amount of money. Every year, tourists, explorers, researchers and animal lovers visit the research center to learn more about these beautiful and fascinating animals.
