One of the memorial buildings at Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum is the open-air Music Stage; the Stage's closeness to nature makes it one of the most distinctive music stages in the world. Towering, ancient trees as well as serene zigzagging paths characterize the scenic area of Lingugu Temple. "Pines deep in Linggu" was one of the "Scenic spots" of both the Ming and Qing dynasties. Osmanthus trees are exceedingly common in the area and each autumn, the scenic area of Linggu Temple is permeated with strong fragrance of osmanthus flowers, making it one of the best places for tourists to experience the beauty of these trees.
