- The presidential residence of former Presidents Mr. Sun Yat-sen and Mr. Jiang Jie-shi can be found at 292 Changjiang Road, Nanjing. On January 1912, Mr. Sun Yat-sen took his oath of office as the first appointed "Interim Grand President" of "the Republic of China" here, and the building was used as the Presidential House until the liberation of China by the Chinese Communist Party in 1949. Mr. Jiang Jieshi, was the chairman of Kuomintang, the ruling political party in China before the Communist rise to power.
