Dragon Palace

The Dragon Palace is made up of over 90 caves that runs through over 20 hills and stretches 15 kilometers. It lies in the western suburbs of Anshun in Guizhou Province, the home of the mythological Dragon King. The magnificent cave system known as the Dragon Palace Cave because of its resemblance to the Dragon King's palace described in "Journey to the West", one of China's most influential novels. Here is also an underground river that flows in the caves, making some of the guys dry and some a little damp. Inside the caves there are several stone pillars in the shape of different animals and humans. There are two chambers that are formed by the underground waterway. The inner chamber has a flat place that serves as a dock where people can get off and visit, while the outer chamber has a platform which leads to the Tiger's Den.
The scenic spot has four main areas, namely, the Rape Lake, the Whirlpool, the Leech Pass and the Dragon Palace itself. Among them, as the most famous and wonderful scenic spot, the Dragon Palace includes various Karst (Limestone) landscapes, solemn steep cliffs and jagged stone forest. The Dragon Palace can be divided into five groups of limestone caves connected by the underground river. There is a boat that travellers can board on a nearby river that will provide a view of the caves and go through a deep maze and bring you bright lit halls.
