Qingyan Old Town is famous for its old city walls that were built of huge slabs of stones near cliffs in order to look dangerous and fearsome. Inside these city gates, there is a quaint town where the majority of things inside are also made from stone, thus giving the city the name "the city of stones."

Many TV stations, such as CCTV, and photographers come to the town to film TV programs and shows as well as film motion pictures for the cinema. One of the most famous films shot in this city is Searching for the Gun, starring Jiangwen.

The city is also famous for its snacks that are local specialties. Mutton rice flour noodles is one of the most famous tasty treats, as are rose candies, chili chicken, cured meat and many others. The many different colors, smells and tastes will leave you wanting more!
