Kaili city Lies in the southeastern area of Guizhou Province, is a living quarter of the Miao and Dong ethnic minorities. Kaili is a perfect place to learn about the culture and life of the Miao people that can be seen through numerous ancient structures, traditional dance performances and several interesting museums. Various festivals are the highlights in Kaili city. Kaili hosts more than 100 festivals each year such as the Dragon Boat Festival, Dragon Lantern Festival, Lusheng Performance, Sisters' Meal Festival, New Rice Eating Festival, Miao New Year,ect. February/March and October/November host the most festival making these months favorable to travel.
However, as a tourist destination, Kaili also boasts its natural landscapes, karst landform and the ancient architecture. If you would like to view the mountain, you can go to the Leigongshan Nature Reserve in Leishan County, southeast to Kaili.If you like to appreciate the local waterscape, you will feel satisfaction at the Wuyang River Scenic Area. You are suggested to have a view of the Yudong Karst Cave if you are interested in the Carst landform. There is a local Sunday Market which only Open on Sundays, is a perfect place for visitors to browse the local ethnic people's living goods including special foods, herbal remedies and all sorts of decorations.
