  • Yangpachen, located north of Lhasa, is famous for its hot springs. The water temperatures of some of the springs are so high that they can cook certain foods. There are also many other different types of springs that can be found here. Visitors may also swim in certain springs to relax or cure different kinds of ailments. A power plant was even built here in 1977 to create geothermal energy for Lhasa. The morning is the best time to relax at Yangpachen and view the air as it is intoxicated with the vapors from the springs.
