People's Square is located in Shanghai's city center; it covers 140,000 square meters, and is overlooked by the municipal government office building, the Shanghai Museum and the Grand Theatre. Crossing through the square from the east to the west is a 100-meter-wide pathway. The Square is a huge area of greenery and trees, with a musical fountain in its center.
People's Square is surrounded by buildings of all kinds on all sides, which combine with the Square itself to make a beautiful scene, and many locals choose to take recreational walks there.
