Trip Highlights - Apart from Erdos, this tour package also covers the famous cities in Inner Mongolia and Ningxia, to show you the exotic Midwest China. Erdos means "Many Palaces", is located in the south western part of Inner Mongolia. Surrounded by the Yellow River and the ancient Great Wall, Erdos has many famous tourist attractions such as the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan and the Sounding Sand Bay. The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with Yinchuan as its capital city, is located in northwest China, on the upper reaches of the Yellow River. One of Ningxias main tourist spots is the famous Xixia Tombs site located 40km west of Yinchuan, and Helan Shan Rock Carving, the mysterious 108 dagobas, Shapotou and many more.

Tour Itinerary

Tour Itinerary: (B-Breakfast, L-Lunch, D-Dinner)
Day1: Beijing

After arriving in Beijing, you will be brought from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day will be yours to either relax or explore the city.
Accommodation: The Jade Palace Hotel 5* (or similar class)  
Day2:Beijing-Hohhot (B/L/D)
Today you will head to the Beijing airport for Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia. Upon arrival to Hohhot, you will be taken to your hotel and the rest of the day is yours to both explore the city or rest and relax.
Accommodation: The Pinnacle Hotel 4 star (Or Similar Class)
Day3:Hohhot-Grassland (B/L/D)
Today you will first visit the Grasslands and Pastures and have local food for lunch. Afterwards you will watch the local people wrestle, shoot arrows and ride horses. In the evening, you will eat a traditional Mongolian lamb dinner and be serenaded by Mongolian Singing and Dancing. In the evening you will stay in the Mongolian Yurts.

Day4:Grassland-Hohhot (B/L/D)
After eating breakfast you will visit the grasslands and then take a bus back to Hohhot. In Hohhot you will visit the Five Pagoda Temple. Later, you will visit the Dazhao Lamasery, the biggest and best preserved temples in Hohhot. For dinner you will have roast lamb and then head back to your hotel.

Day5:Hohhot - Baotou (B/L/D)
Today you will leave Hohhot and travel to Baotou. In Baotou you will visit Wudangzhao, the former residence of the highest ranking lama in Inner Mongolia. Then for dinner you will eat carp taken from the Yellow River.

Day6:Baotou-Erdos (B/L/D)
Today you will make your way to Erdos and view the Resonant Sand Bay. Here, when you slide down the sands to the foot of the hill, you can hear sounds like an engine, which nobody can explain.

Day7:Erdos-Yinchuan (B/L/D)
Today you will visit the Tomb of The Greatest Mongolian Leader, Genghis Khan. Here you can view the coffins that contain his and his wives remains. Afterwards you will drive to Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia.

Day8:Yinchuan-Zhongwei (B/L/D)
Today you will leave Yinchuan and travel to Zhongwei where you will see the 108 Buddhist Pagodas, which are 2.5 to 3.5 meters tall. They are arranged on the mountain to form a colossal triangle, in rows of increasing odd numbers.

Day9:Zhongwei-Yinchuan (B/L/D)
After eating breakfast, you will visit the Western Xia Tombs on the way back to Yinchuan. They are the largest and best preserved imperial cemeteries in China. After the tobms, you will see the cliff carvings at Helan Mountain and then be brought to Yinchuan.

Day10:Yinchuan-Beijing (B/L/D)
In the morning you will fly back to Beijing. In the afternoon, upon arrival, you will take a tour of Wangfujing and the Hutongs. Wangfujing is a famous shopping street in Beijing and the Hutongs are the old housing areas of Beijing that are made up of small alleys and courtyards.

After eating breakfast, you will be taken to the airport to fly back to your home country.
Attraction Description
Resonant Sand Bay
Located within an hour's drive away from the city of Baotou, Resonant Sand Bay (otherwise known as Xiangshawan in Chinese) is located in Ih Ju League. Here, one can slide down the dunes and hear sounds of automobile and aircraft engines, a natural unexplainable phenomenon.
Tomb of Genghis Khan
The main structures of the mausoleum are the three grand halls, which are shaped like Mongolian yurts, and the corridors linking them. In the middle is the Main Hall, also known as the Memorial Hall. In the center of this stands a white marble statue of Genghis Khan over 4 meters tall.
