Tour Itinerary: (Lunch)Today’s Activity: Jinci Temple, Ancient City of Pingyao.
In the morning you shall visit Jinci Temple, which is a short drive (about 15 miles) from Taiyuan City centre. Jinci Temple was often used as an imperial garden and is famous for its magnificent building complex and excellent art of statue. After lunch you shall see the Ancient City of Pingyao. Located about 100km from Taiyuan by the River Fen, this central area of Shanxi Province is widely known for its numerous historical and cultural sites. World heritage listed Pingyao boasts the best examples of Ming & Qing living anywhere in China. This is a "must see" for those who are really "into" Chinese history.

Jinci Temple
Jinci Temple is located southeast of Taiyuan City. It's history can be traced back to the Western Zhou Dynasty. The temple is one of the most famous in the area, known for its ancient trees, cultural relics, beautiful scenery and most of all, its ancient temple, a rarity in China. The Jinci Temple complex is large and will keep any visitor occupied for several hours.
Pingyao Ancient City
Situated in Pingyao County, right in the middle of Shanxi Province, just 100 km away from Taiyuan, the Pingyao Ancient City is renowned as a hotbed of historical and cultural relics. The city has over 3000 battlements and 72 watchtowers according to the disciples of Confucius.
