Du Fu Thatched Cottage

Du Fu's Thatched Cottage is the former residence of Du Fu, one of the most famous Tang Dynasty and Chinese poets. He composed around 240 poems in almost four years time while staying at this cottage. His residence disappeared several years ago and was rebuilt and enlarged in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The inside of the Cottage is home to several buildings, including the Gongbuci Temple, Shaoling Stone Monument and many others. There are several exhibits in the cottage that mention Du Fu's life and work.
Works from other writers and artists are also on display inside. The actual cottage where Du Fu supposedly stayed is very small in comparison the area of the park, but it is still interesting to see how one of China's most famous poets lived.
