Zhangjiajie Forest Reserve

Zhangjiajie Forest Reserve, located in the area of Suoxiyu Valley and Tianzi Mountain, together with Suoxiyu Natural Resource Reserve, Tianzishan Natural Resource Reserve and Yaozizhai makes up the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, also known as Zhangjiajie Scenic Spot. The Zhangjiajie National Forest Park opened for visitors in the 1980s and is famous for the beautiful forests, water and peaks. Its gymnosperm species also comprise of half the world's total. One of the best places to visit is Golden Whip Stream that flows through several valleys and is surrounded by peaks covered with trees and vines.
The Zhangjiajie Forest Reserve became the first National Park in China in 1982. There are six main scenic spots and over 90 smaller ones in the Zhangjiajie Forest Reserve to date, featuring grotesque peaks, lucid brooks, abundant fauna and floras and hospitable climate.
